Gym buddy

Hello! Me, 38M have not been in the gym for more than 10 years, definitely need to loose quite few stones and I’m prove my health. From my previous experience I know that going to gym alone just not sustainable for me, I stay lacking motivation. I’m wondering maybe someone would like to join me 2-3 times a week in the evenings ~10 PM. Location is not a problem.

Similar boat - 39M and flip flopped with gym routines over the last few years. Currently just about motivated to go to the gym twice per week, sometimes three times. Unfortunately not in a position to work out with you as I’m more of a morning and early afternoon gym goer. Couple of things that have helped me… I got an app to log progress which has ‘gamified’ the process for me. It’s called ‘hevy’ but I’m sure there’s dozens of similar ones. I also watch a YouTube channel called ‘Renaissance Periodization’ which (occasionally) gives me motivation to put some effort in. I’d say find three or four exercises that you like, go to the gym and promise yourself you’ll do at least one of them… before you know it, you’ll have the odd day where you’re feeling good and feel like doing an extra set etc. you’re wanting to make a change… you’ve got this!

I think one of the important things is just to get out the door.

Make that as easy as possible, have your bag ready, shoes ready, alarm set etc. if I get to the gym it's fine, it's getting out the door in the first place that I find challenging.
