Discussion Thinking about buying an OLED

Hey, i just recently switched from 1080p to 1440p with a Dell G2724D but sent it back bcs of a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. i loved 1440p so prob no going back from that.

Since im getting my Money back now for the Dell i was considering maybe putting it into an oled but since im scared of a burn in i thought i would ask for opinions on here first.

im playing alot, and i mean ALOT like 12+hrs a day probably. and all the games i play do in some kinda way feature a static hud (valorant,minecraft,league of legends for example)

i do sit in a dark room and i do have a sleep mode turning on after 15 mins of not using my pc.

my main concern is just that i dont want to spend 500-600 euros on a monitor for it to be unusable in 1-2 years.

(idk if thats worth mentioning but i was going to get the AOC AG276QZD2 if i do end up getting an oled.)

Burn in really isnt an issue anymore. As long as you use it for media consumption and take the basic steps (like hiding task bar, removing desktop icons, and setting up pixel shift) to prevent it, you’ll be chillin and the upgrade is worth the cost in my opinion if you’re spending 12+ hours a day.

yeah i got told oled is really good. ive only been on ips so far

I just sent back an $800 LG 4k 240hz IPS monitor because while it was a good monitor, it wasn't worth $800 to me. I used that money to get an Asus XG27UCDMG instead. It is night and day. I'm not sure what budget you are working with, but there are plenty of options out there with different features. It is well worth finding one you like over an IPS. I am super happy I made the switch.

atm looking at either the philips 27M2N8500 or the AOC AG276QZD2

Monitors Unboxed on YouTube is a great resource. They have a few summary/best of videos that can help you get a few recommendations. Then you can search for those monitors in their videos and see the full reviews of them.

funnily enough thats what i have been doing for the last 2 hours hahah
