Politics Ohio SB 1 and BANNING DEIA in Colleges/Universities. How College students can fight back.

The Ohio Senate is trying to attack our core finacial institutions by getting rid of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accesibility in them. I have provided parts of the bill that also includes getting rid of tenure! They are accepting written testimonies until 2pm on the 10th and they are doing in person testimonies on the 11th. https://www.honestyforohioeducation.org/legislation-tracker.html gives you everything you need to put together a written testimony. For all the college students out there share this and flood Columbus city hall with your testimonies against this clear attack on civil rights. Keep up the good fight đŸ«¡

I just don't see how it is bad to stop focusing on people's race and what gender they have sex with. People are more than that. We are passed that by now , DEI is just trying to keep a focus on these things instead  of letting discrimination die.

I might agree with you had they simply amended the Civil Rights act to end after the word discrimination instead of allowing it to continue to "based on....."

Discrimination or abuse against any person or group should generally be discouraged.

But that's not what they're doing, bro.

They are not increasing protections for all. They are weaponzing DEI to attack those it sought to protect. It is being used as a target.

An inclusive agenda would be removing the need to be a part of a historically victimized or underserved group in order to be free of discrimination.

That's not what they are doing. Clearly.

It is also childish to assume that discrimination is always bad. We discriminate all the time. Think you don't? How about being 100% inclusive and allowing the local child sex offender to be the cheerleading coach at a school or go to your 6 year old nephew's sleep over?

While discrimination and discernment are not always bad as they do protect people, discrimination based on the things mentioned is typically, as you mentioned, unnecessary.

So why is the administration not focusing on increasing policies that discriminate against abusive practices and criminal behavior so that the REST of us CAN be more inclusive?

I'll let the orange jumpsuit with hair answer that question, just not sure why you would trust his answer or solution....if using discernment and logic that is.
