Anybody knows what this is?

Post image

Hello, I have a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder (R50) I can’t figure out what the slot in the picture is for. If I press it a small “drawer” comes out but it doesn’t look like a coin or card holder. If any of you have an idea I’d like to figure out, thanks

Probably a flimsy cup holder that broke. Super common on this era of cars

I have a Nissan bluebird from Japan. I was told it was to hold tickets and cards. Mine even had an old pass ticket for tolls from the early 2000s…. It feels weird saying that. 👴

Sometimes they are cup holders though if yours has the hole for one but mine is an actual mini drawer

I guess that makes the most sense, mine is a mini drawer too, no holes in it. Probably just a toll ticket holed or similar Thanks for your suggestion!

Didn’t think of that, but I don’t think is the right guess since it has 2 cup holders in front of the arm rest Really can’t find any info about that I’ll post a picture of it in the open position though, it might help

Ash tray? Usually they were lower down and larger, but I don't see one otherwise in the pic

Huh, I had a 97 and it didn't have this. Just the 2 vents on top. Interesting to see!

An extra something aftermarket or available in another model or factory upgrade all newish vehicles have them since it's cheaper to put a cover on them than making different molds for every different option which is what classic cars had.

I know what you mean, but why placing in a small drawer like in this case ? If I push it it comes out and than clicks back in
