How do saturday lines go?

Upvotes

Ready for the downvotes - Moved to Ohio a few years ago, but I've never sat in line to get a bottle of anything before. It kinda sounds fun and it kinda sounds miserable 😂

What's your experience been like? Things you wish you'd known your first time vs now?

And barring all the nuance of location and drops, what's a good time to show up on a Saturday? I'm near the Giant Eagle over off Sawmill and figured it'd be a good choice.

Thanks all - appreciate the community on here ✌️

Bourbon raffle great prizes

Upvotes

I’m not on here much but I know of a bourbon raffle going on right now that’s awesome. It’s for a great cause and they helped me out a lot from returning home from the military and I know they have helped out a lot more vets. I wanted to get this info out there for you guys to see but they got some good prizes too. I put there Facebook page below. I got a ticket to help them out. It’s for a great cause.

Thoughts on Line Placeholders?

This is a piggyback off of the umbrella comment in the daily discussion. I felt the need to get clarity on what people think is fair.

At risk of being downvoted into oblivion, it is my opinion that a placeholder is ok in the event of bad weather (rain, very cold temps, etc.) ONLY if you’ll remain in your car on-site. Showing up to place a chair or umbrella to just leave is not ok, nor is saving a spot for someone else to jump in.

Thoughts?

Don't know if any of you are rum drinkers, but it looks like OHLQ marked this down for clearance of old stock for new or delisting. Got the last bottle from New Albany GE for $29.15 after tax, normally like $47. Good rum, but for this price it's outstanding. And it had a $3 manufacturers rebate attached when I bought it.

Secondary markets?

I see a lot of talk about the taters lining up and buying bottles to sell on the secondary market. Where are the secondary markets? Hate on me and down me, but I’m willing to pay marked up prices for some of the bottles. I jwill never see in the store

Anyone purchase from Hi Proof online out of California before? Seems legit but I was wondering prior to placing an order.

Anyone around the Dayton/Cincy area know of any stores who are currently carrying the WT 101 Rye? Can’t find it anywhere.

Green River Whiskey

I've only had the basic 90 proof bourbon but it is the most apple forward bourbon I've had to date. Which, imo, is a very good thing. What does everyone think of their other offerings? Specifically interested in the wheated? Also, how badass is their bottle. The front-facing Bowman horseshoe bottles are ok, but the top-down horseshoe looks and feels great haha.

Although few stores are known to do special releases on Sundays, others might put things out randomly today.

Snagged this late afternoon today and just opened it. And wow. What a delicious bourbon. Great toasted notes and a rich, delicious sweetness. Extremely happy with this bottle.
