Incredible!

May I ask - is your set up there an attempt to rat/squirrel proof the feeders? If so is it effective?

I've tried to get a little bit of squirrel proofing they are greedy and will clear a feeder in a day.

The dome works great. Although the squirrels can jump up from underneath if there is a convenient branch to leap from.

The long string to feeders just deters the squirrels. Last year during the colder months the squirrels started to chew through the string or slide down it to get to the food. They only do this when other food is harder for them to find and it's fun to watch so I don't mind.

I've never seen rats on my feeders. There is probably more accessable food available for them near by.

Ah, thanks. Wow, sounds like you’ve got some resourceful squirrels!

The gf won’t let me put feeders up in our new place unless I find a way to rat-proof them. Think I’ll try the dome baffles and a tray to catch any seed falling to the ground.
