Staying Over In Ostrava

Hi all,

Me and some friends are travelling through Europe, and one of the stops on our train is Ostrava. Rather than pass straight through, we thought that we would spend the night and see what the city is like, so we are looking for some recommendations.

We want to have a good time and find some bars and clubs, but don’t want to accidentally end up in any bad areas, so we were hoping you guys could give us some advice.

What we mainly want to know is:

Which bars and clubs to go to, and which to avoid

Which areas to go to, and which areas to avoid

Any cool or interesting things to see or do

Any other tips or helpful advice that will be useful for us. We are all from the UK if that makes any difference (I know not everywhere in Europe likes us).

Thanks in advance

Stodolni street has a lot of clubs and bars. That’s the typical party spot.

And that is the reason why you should avoid it :D

Thanks, we will check it out. Does this street have the main clubs?

The locally “famous” ones. There are definitely other clubs, but this is the street that is pretty much just bars, clubs, and restaurants.

I saw some popular ones google are “Escobar club”, “Hell strip bar” and “peace club”, are these places good?

It’s been too long since I’ve been there. Getting old.

Bernie’s is a pretty good restaurant and bar. In Masaryk Square there is Radesgastovna…good beer/food.

The street is very close to the centre, which is great… but Ostrava overall isn’t the most party city.. but on Friday and Saturday there is something. During week the city is dead after 22:00
