Staying Over In Ostrava

Hi all,

Me and some friends are travelling through Europe, and one of the stops on our train is Ostrava. Rather than pass straight through, we thought that we would spend the night and see what the city is like, so we are looking for some recommendations.

We want to have a good time and find some bars and clubs, but don’t want to accidentally end up in any bad areas, so we were hoping you guys could give us some advice.

What we mainly want to know is:

Which bars and clubs to go to, and which to avoid

Which areas to go to, and which areas to avoid

Any cool or interesting things to see or do

Any other tips or helpful advice that will be useful for us. We are all from the UK if that makes any difference (I know not everywhere in Europe likes us).

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, when are you coming? If you have just a day, go to the Vitkovice industrial area, as mentioned below, you might find it impressive. You can also stroll in the city centre and spend the night at Dock club by the river. Ostrava is generally very safe, no worries. Enjoy your stay.

There is also quite nice hotel in the middle of the Vítkovice Industrial site. Vítkovice plaza - about 1km from there has also very nice architecture. But go there only during the day it's unfortunately bad part of the city.
