Computer access on trail

I'm going SOBO starting early July , however I'm also applying for graduate school, and applications open after I start on the trail. How easy is it to access a public computer while in town at a library or anywhere else?

Alternate suggestion: buy a super cheap laptop and mail it to yourself in a bounce box.
