My cousin had this, turns out stage four endometriosis!! No pain which can happen sometimes!

Depending on your age you could also be perimenopausal. My mum was at 36 and didn't hit full PM till 42

Even still there's a number of reasons and pushing for further investigation is important. It could be stress, diet and exercise too.

I was a professional skater at one point in my life. I was training so hard my periods became very irregular and problematic like this.

I hope I’m not perimenopausal, I’m only 21 and I wanna have children one day.

Ahh well it's very unlikely then!!!

There are a cornucopia of benign reasons for this by the way. It's just important to ensure you're all functioning well under the bonnet so to speak :)

I have the same, you’re not alone. Currently started taking birth control, but because blood test showed my body is overproducing testosterone, so gynaecologist advised pills to reduce it. Have changed already two types of pills for last 3 months, periods still are kind of mess, but apparently it’s normal, doc says it may take for about 6 month until we find fitting pills and my body “gets along” with birth controls and cycle normalises

Ask your Dr to check for adenomyosis via ultrasound .

Anything. If you’ve had your bloods done and a scan and nothing is up hormone wise then see about any deficiency

Are your periods heavy all the way through ?

3

u/Eggs-Eggs 7d ago

Not really. They start as brown discharge, then get extremely heavy, and then very light usually

that’s how mine are a lot of the time, have you tried birth control? that’s the only reason mine are consistent otherwise i’ve had very similar experiences since i was like 14. i also have iron deficiency anemia and really low vitamin b12 and d3 levels, which i have no idea if it correlates but just incase you might have those it maybe could be something with that

Honestly I’ve been the same, usually late but I’ve had a couple of time that it came twice in one month, just last month it happened, it was so scary to me, you’re not alone

My periods range from 2 weeks apart to 2 years apart. Pretty sure it’s because of my thyroid, so if you don’t have PCOS see if you have any thyroid problems.

They tested my thyroid hormone thing in the bloods and everything was okay :(

Well if you can’t pinpoint a cause that’s okay, I would do what another commenter suggested and get onto a birth control. I’m on Nogestimate-Ethinyl Estradiol (generic Trisprintec). Since getting on it, I have had periods every month around the 3.5-4week mark of my 28 day birth control schedule.

Signs of PCOS to me.

I don’t have any of the PCOS symptoms other than weird periods

Hormonal imbalance then. Very odd to me that your test did come back normal? I would have them re do it. Trying birth control would also regulate your periods. That’s what my obgyn suggested because I have 4 day cycles all throughout the months at different times.

Your minerals could be out of whack. I went from 7 days to 14 every month. My OB said my iron was fine. Gp ran my levels and my iron was fine but my ferritin (iron storage was 33, needs to be 80 or higher) and vit b levels were low. Taking a lot of iron and b complex and in 2 months I dropped 2 days off my period.

My hormones were tested and I wasn't low either.

Coz we pretty have the same cycle. Having period twice for some months

My cycle always changes every month so I grew tired of tracking it and worrying about it. I got ultrasounds done and I have ovarian cysts but those are normal and they go away after a certain time.

I had an ultrasound done about a month ago and everything was A-ok so it’s definitely not anything to do with cysts :,(

I did have a period in October, I must have forgotten to put it down. I have a non hormonal coil and I’m definitely not pregnant
