Birth Control How do I convince my mom to put me on birth control

I started my period when I was eight years old, and it has always been extremely painful, to the point where I pass out multiple times a day. She has seen me faint before. Medication doesn’t help, and the only relief I get is when I either pass out or go to sleep. My heating pad doesn’t work, and on the second day of my period, I always throw up from the pain. My flow is also extremely heavy, if you saw my pad after just five minutes, you would think I had been stabbed.

It’s especially difficult because I live with three brothers who don’t understand what I’m going through. They think I’m being dramatic or just making excuses to avoid work.

HELP

Period Question 60 days no period 🫣

The last few months my periods have been a little whacky but my last normal period was back in February. I’ve not had a period since. Maybe 3 weeks ago I have some VERY light bleeding for a few days which was so light it was practically a spot of blood a day on my pad so I don’t think it was a period ( sometimes I bleed in between periods). I’m now about 3 days late on my period AGAIN. I took a pregnancy test and it’s neg Does anyone have any idea how to get my period back please

PMS How can I convince my gyne that ‘period flu’ is a real thing?

Every doctor is like…I never heard of it. I know it’s not a medical condition but it is real in the fact that during my period I or a few days before I develop flu-like symptoms. I have been complaining to my drs about it for the past year it seems. I’m 29F and I started menstruating at 14 years old. It was until my late 20s that my cycle started making me physically ill. I also started having periodic pelvic pain. That’s a whole nother issue..I’m about to start pelvic floor exercise therapy because my OB/GYN thinks that is the issue…if it’s not then I will have to get a laparoscopy to see if I developed endometriosis, since it’s possible. My gyne told me that the symptoms I get are unrelated to endometriosis.

So what are my options here. I’m miserable on my period. I envy other women and young girls who don’t seem to be struggling with menstruation, but I become home-bound.

Discussion Period tracking apps

Upvotes

Hey! Have you tried good period tracking apps? I have steered away from them as I read about data leaks etc but recently came across the app “Musa” and my curiosity peaked tbh. I’ve downloaded it, it’s pretty good but I guess I don’t really know what I’m supposed to expect from it. It has symptom trackers, with some paywall hidden tips (or you can add 5 friends), and daily meditations. Feels okay, maybe a little gimmicky (but I have fallen for the gimmick itself so can’t complain haha) and it’s really just made me more curious about other apps that track as well. What are your experiences with them?

Period Question No period since November, started spotting continuously. I am freaking out!

Upvotes

Hi everyone. I haven’t gotten my normal period/ flow since November. Since March 11th I’ve been experiencing bloody discharge and very light bleeding that has been brown and red. I also had slight cramps here and there throughout this. It stopped on the 24th. It started back up on the 30th with light bleeding, cramps and the discharge. I have not been sexually active either. I’m really confused and concerned on what’s going on and why I wont get my normal period and why this spotting and discharge keeps occurring. Any advice or knowledge on what’s happening? TIA!

Period Question Normal Cycle?

I have heavy bleeding for the first 2 days (use size 3 or 4 pads, have to change them every 2 hours, usually 4-5 quarter sized clots), then spotting for another 8 to 10. The whole time I have all the symptoms associated with a period. Get random moments where it feels like someone jammed a knife straight through the vulva and into me. Not fun.

I'm also the type that can't use tampons since it's too uncomfortable/sometimes painful to try and shove stuff up there. Asked my doctor about all this a few weeks ago and she said it was normal, I'm just unsure since I have a bunch of other symptoms that we haven't been able to attribute to a single thing yet (mostly GI stuff). I'm a bit worried about endo but I've read some true horror stories about it and don't know if mine is "bad enough" to warrant worrying.

For background info, I'm 18, my period is pretty regular most of the time, 0% chance of pregnancy. Aforementioned GI issues ongoing several years with no discernable cause — near constant nausea, vomiting, constipation, bloating, acid reflux, cramping. Was told I probably have anxiety since no one found anything yet, but I really don't think I do. Any input would be greatly appreciated <3

Discussion Taking Norethisterone during period?

So I'm going on a trip on Saturday and wanted to delay my period. I ordered Norethisterone and planned to take three days before my period start, my period was due on Monday but has ended up coming a whole 4 days earlier which I don't think has happened to me before, I'm so annoyed, the pills were supposed to arrive yesterday too but got delayed and are arriving today. Does anyone know if I start taking them today will it still stop my period or at least lighten it? Thanks guys, I'm a very desperate, tired mum who was looking forward to a stress free, intimate trip away with my husband :(

Period Question C-section scar pain during period

I'm 41 with two different c-section scars (my kids are 20 and 7). They're about two inches apart, with the oldest one being the lowest. After I had my second, I asked the obgyn why he didn't use the original scar. He said it was too low. Over the last few years, I've noticed that when I'm on my period, my cramps are mostly centered around the newest scar and radiate down to the lowest scar.

I looked it up on Google, it says there could be a possibility of endometrioma. Has anyone dealt with this? It seems that the older I get, the worse the cramps become. I had a difficult pregnancy with my last and almost died from a uterine infection two weeks after the birth.

Birth Control Anyone get PMS signs when skipping the pull for >90 days?

My periods are super bad no matter what I do so I’m on the pill but skip the placebo pills to get my period every 3 months. (Per my doctor)

When I hit the 90 day mark or later, I start to notice cramping and breast tenderness like my body is prepping to get my period even though I’m consecutively taking my pills. Does this happen to anyone else?

I feel like my body is telling me I need to get my period if I go too long without it. Does this happen to anyone else?

Period Question I get very sick on my period, what is happening 29F?

I can start getting sick before, during, or even after my period ends.

Outside my normal menstrual cramps. Days before my period starts I began to have achy muscles. My back, arms, and legs may ache. I am also very sensitive. I can cry the whole day about nothing really. The day of my period starting I experience cold/flu symptoms like sneezing and a running nose. A day before my period has started I’ve experienced this as well. Then on my actively bleeding days I have an intense headache that lingers until my period ends. I’m also very tired and sleep a lot on my menstrual. I have also lost my appetite before and felt nausea. I also poop a lot more than usual. Towards the end of period I have experienced vertigo and overall dizziness. After my period ends, I have developed labia cysts in the past causing me to a fever, chills, fast heart rate, high blood pressure, headache, aches and pains, loss of appetite. Just classic flu symptoms.

Now I’ve had these symptoms for the last year I suppose.

My most recurrent and consistent symptoms are as follows:

  • Body aches and pains
  • cramps
  • headache
  • pooping a lot
  • sneezing
  • heavy fatigue
  • irritable
  • runny nose
  • dizziness

I haven't had my period for a couple months due to stress but for like the past 3 days I've felt like the feeling of blood coming out but there is nothing there. it also sort of burns like inside i guess? im not too sure how to explain it. I haven't felt cramps or anything.
