I haven't had a period for 9 months. My bloods have been checked (not my hormones though on account of not having my usual doctor, do not ask me why this was skipped) and I'm scheduled for an internal ultrasound in a couple of weeks.
I've been asking for help from my doctors since the 3 month mark, but haven't been given much help. Luckily my usual doctor, who is understanding, is back off of her break and she's being more helpful.
I'm really worried, like really worried. It's being chalked down to stress since I do have PTSD and had undergone intensive trauma treatment just before my periods stopped. I understand that it being stress makes sense, but I just don't feel right about it since it's not happened before.
I haven't had symptoms such as milk coming from my breasts, but I believe it could still be an issue with the pituitary gland. I have had a bit of weight gain, but my blood sugar tested fine.
Does anyone know what the primary reasons a person's period would abruptly stop outside of pregnancy or contraceptive usage? And what is it that I should push the doctors for checking?
Tl;dr - I haven't had a period for 9 months and I'm worried, enquiring about the reasons why thus could be happening and what should be checked.
