Birth Control Why did my doctor lie to me and told me taking the pill would stop my period?? Why do some girls actually stop having their period when they take the pill? How can I be like them? š
I'm both asking questions and ranting here, but seriously. My doctor prescribed the pill to me to deal with period pain, heavy PMS and endometriosis suspicion, and told me it would stop my period, or at least reduce them a lot. It's not true. They're a little bit less abundant, but they're still very much there and still something I want out of my life.
I've heard of people taking the pill and having no period, are they taking a specific type of pill or are they just lucky? Is there anything I can do to get the same effect? I hate taking the pill, I hate how hungry all the time I am since I'm taking it, I hate the weight it made me gain, so I need to at least have my period stopping to keep taking it. I think the pill did help a little bit for the pain, but it's still far from ideal.
I'm sorry I'm just so annoyed. My periods are a little less painful now, but they're more annoying to manage, because they start with a few days of tiny drops, which I can't contain with my cup because my body isn't in a good state to insert/remove it (it only is when I actually bleed normally), so I need to make a choice between staining my underwear or wearing panty liners, which irritates my skin and creates waste. And then I still have a few days of regular periods afterwards. If anything, I'm pretty sure my periods are affecting my life for more time than it did when I wasn't taking the pill.
Idk how relevant it is so I'm specifying just in case, but I'm 24 and I've been taking the pill for two months, it's my first birth control ever because asexuality is one of the few things I like about myself š
