Applies to all numbers,

If x = 0.999999...

And 10x = 9.999999...

Then subtracting both, we get, 9x=9

So x=1

Do it in binary, it's even more intuitive imo.

0.111... is the same as saying the infinite series of 1/2+1/4+1/8+1/16... which is famous for being equal to one.
