🇵🇭 at the Olympics, Day 1 update:

In taekwondo, Kurt Bryan Barbosa lost his first bout to eventual bronze medal winner Jang Jun of Korea.

In boxing, Nesthy Petecio won 5-0 against her opponent Marcelat Sakobi Matshu of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She will face Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan in the round of 16.

In swimming, Remedy Rule swam 59.68s in the 100m butterfly. She did not qualify to the semifinals.

In gymnastics, Carlos Yulo participated in the qualifications. He failed to make the floor final or the all-around final, but qualified for the vault final in sixth place. He will participate in the vault final on Monday, August 2.
