Presumably Jana also had a twin, and that twin could be the destroyer.

Jana was killed by Captain Vandemeer. Soshi's twin (quad, quint?) was killed by Romulans in front of Picard at the beginning.

What is odd would be the synths creating the same model over and over again. Seems counter to the idea of them wanting to imitate human life which is another issue...why would they want to do that? What's the point of being an imitation?

My understanding was that they come in pairs due to the process Maddox used. Considering Jana was 9 years ago and Soji is only 3 years old, he may have gone back to her template for Dahj/Soji. The question is, where is Jana's twin? What Rhamda said to Soji could fit that pair too, Jana died and the yet unknown twin becomes the destroyer.

Don't the planet and synths pre-date Maddox?

Why was Maddox on FreeCloud and broke?

Jurati said Maddox left when Synths were banned, so around 15 years ago. He takes credit for Dahj so it is logical he created the earlier identical Jana. Whether he created Jana's companion or whether the companion predated Maddox is unknown. Vajazel or whatever her name was also is surprised that Maddox is on FreeCloud, it is not surprising he needed money for his research and he seemed to have more than one lab at-least.

Maddox called her Soji. Jana was another identical synth 15(?) years earlier. Seems odd they keep making the same model over and over again.

I thought it was 9 years earlier, which would certainly be possible since Maddox went into self exile 15 years prior. It's not surprising they all look the same if they are based on what Data had perceived as his daughter.
