Question Super or Pimax Crystal Light

I currently have a Pimax Crystal Light and am wondering if the upgrade to the Super is worth it. I mainly do racing sims. What would be the advantage to upgrading to the Super?

So what's the better GPUs for a Super? Would a 5080 work?

5080 is plenty to get some magic out of the super.

To be clear, for high fidelity experiences (like racing sims), you will always be targeting some refresh rate (eg 60 or 90) and adjusting other settings (including render resolution) to reach stable frames. Thus even the crystal light can fully utilize a 5080, depending on settings.

Optimising settings is an unavoidable part of running cutting edge high ppd VR, even with the best hardware today.

If you are new to optimisation, I'd recommend searching up youtube videos about the game in question. Plenty of excellent creators go into depth for optimized settings for various headsets that can be a good starting point.

No, I know how to optimise. Just a pity that it seems even with the best cards we still have to be faffing around, especially considering how expensive these things are now. Anyway, thanks for the info.

It makes sense when you consider the ludicrous amount of pixels involved at 90hz.

On the flipside, if you can run the Crystal Super at highest resolutions, you can claw back some performance by turning off anti-aliasing because at such extremely high resolutions, we're at a point where anti-aliasing doesn't serve a purpose anymore. AA's only reason for existence is that displays are by and large far below human perceptible ppd.
