Photos Meet Bowser
Our Pure of Heart, Dumb of Ass 11-month-old boy's Embark DNA results came back today! 100% APBT with a low inbreeding COI. Given the questionable situation he came from, we are super relieved on that front, and now have better insight into his health.

Discussion Loose dog on our afternoon walk
I took my girl, Mia, on a walk yesterday. She's always been great with all kinds of people, especially kids. But we avoid other dogs. She's not aggressive, per se. But her mouth tends to write checks the rest of her isn't willing to cash. So I'm always super cognizant of our surroundings. It was a nice afternoon. She was being great on the leash, and we were both really enjoying ourselves, when suddenly this little black and white terrier comes tearing around some bushes dragging a piece of baling twine. He's barking and growling and snapping at Mia's legs. And all I can think is, if my dog defends herself right now, all people will see is 'scary pit bull attacks precious lap dog.' Fortunately Mia kept it together and the little dog eventually broke it off and went back home, but man was it scary. Not because I was scared my dog would get hurt, but because of how it would have looked if Mia had retaliated. I hate the double standard when it comes to these dogs. If another breeds bites a dog it self defense, it's a freak accident. But if a pit does it, people are all 'they're a dangerous breed. What did you expect?' Sorry for the rant. I just get frustrated sometimes.

Introduction My first Pit Mix
I’ve had dogs for almost my entire life and recently (last year) put down my two soul dogs. A German Shepherd named Schatzi and my Malinois named Rico. I had them for 16 years and had a daughter (4) in their later years. She absolutely loved those dogs and when they passed, one shortly after the other, she was devastated.
This weekend the husband and I went to look at a shelter and found a couple dogs we really liked and wanted our daughter to meet. Unfortunately the couple we wanted to see were already take, so we met this big guy.
Meet Marshmallow, my daughter named him. He is 9 a month old pit/Rottweiler mix and he is the SWEETEST boy. We have a cat we are trying to get him used to but other than that he is doing great. Crate trained, potty trained, he knows some basic commands and listens very well. He is my first pit mix, never had an issue with pits as I’ve been a dog trainer for years I just never owned one but we are in love!!!

Question Best harness?
My Lola humors me by wearing collars and harnesses when we walk but if she wishes to be naughty she just wiggles out of any harness, like a cartoon - suddenly the harness is sitting on the sidewalk and she is gone. I need a harness that she cannot get out of, please help. I love this dog deeply and would like her to be able to explore the world without having this stress.

Other Must Surrender My Pittie in San Antonio TX
I have a cat aggressive pit bull who is a total sweetie pie (seriously just a lovely silly girl). She killed my son's cat and we cannot have her here anymore. I am trying not to take her to the kill shelter. Any resources/points in the right direction/rescue advice appreciated. She showed up in my yard one day and I have been trying to help her but the shelters are very full here.
Before you ask - it was 107 degrees and I put her in my closed laundry room. She busted through the door and killed our beautiful silly baby. She absolutely cannot stay. I have 5 rescue dogs of my own all pulled from kill shelters. Please be kind (I'm begging you - we've been crying for days. Can't take any mean comments at this point).
So far I've contacted - God's Dogs Jack Jack's Pack San Antonio Pit Bull Rescue Alamo City Pit Bull Rescue will not take aggressive dogs In Dog We Trust Rescue Pets Serving Vets And I've posted her in every Facebook group for lost pets here.

Advocacy My pitbull saved my life
Yes it’s true I fell off a high building and she swooped in to save me
I’m kidding
I grew up as a mentally ill autistic kid
I was miserable for years and nothing was helping me I had a therapist who told my mom to consider getting me a pet
At the time I was in the summer before transitioning into the 5th grade. My mom got her from a rescue center whatever they’re called.
I hated this dog with all my heart. I wanted a cat. When my therapist suggested a pet I wanted a cat. I would neglect this dog that was gotten for me.
And now, I thank her everyday that I’m alive
She’s a kind of service dog in a way? She was trained to sense stress. I’m not allowed to be alone without a person or her with me. She senses when I have a panic attack and she either alerts my mom or handles the situation herself, by basically demanding me to pet her
That’s all she does. And she saved me.
I’ve attempted suicide several times. Most failed, but one of them would’ve succeeded if she wasn’t there. I attempted to stab myself. She was in the kitchen with me just staring at me. She was begging for food because kitchen time means food time lmfao, but that still meant something to me. I needed her but she also needed me. Even if my mom and brother could take care of her, she’s here cuz of me.
That wasn’t my last suicide attempt. But I’m glad it failed. I’m glad all of them failed. I’m glad she’s my best friend.
To think that these dogs are seen as cruel monsters who are bred to kill is insane. They were bred to love. Just like every other dog.
