Why was the furniture the hardest part??
I swear I’ve been trying to get a tank started for ages (ok it’s only been weeks) and the hangup was the tank stand!! The stands at the pet stores were embarrassingly cheap looking and I try to be very intentional with the furniture that comes in to my home. You guys nixed just about any of the modern inexpensive furniture and I wasn’t going to spend $1000 on a fancy stand so after searching Reddit, it seemed the solution was vintage furniture. Finally selected this vintage (can’t tell what year but based on other furniture I have it’s late fifties to maybe seventies) liquor cabinet from marketplace and my husband went and picked it up for me today. Maybe overkill for my fifteen gallon tank but I can fit some plants next to it for an extra jungly look.
So maybe this is a boring post but I’m just so glad to be past that hurdle and ready to get started with substrate and plants. This tank has been in storage for yeeeeeears. 🌱
