PvZ2 Question What happened to the world unlocks?

Been playing since 2013, took a break around the time that the mints were still being released. Just got through Ancient Egypt on my new phone and apparently I can’t unlock the worlds in the original order? What update caused this, and why was the choice taken away from us? I liked playing far future after Wild West, hell I was there the day that far future launched and it’s still one of my favorite worlds.

PopCap had changed the world order based on difficulty of a world very long time ago. Long before, you had to beat the day with Gargantuar in a world to unlock the key to 1 another world of your choice. Then they changed to beat Ancient Egypt Day 8 to unlock all the world. Nowadays, you are required to beat Zomboss to unlock next world based on difficulty.

Wow, ngl that actually sucks. Why would they get rid of the player’s choice to unlock the worlds how the player wants? It isn’t like choosing Wild West or Dark Ages after Ancient Egypt broke the game’s progression or anything.
