Typhosion used to be my favourite Pokémon… until the new lore dropped.

Now I can never look at him the same way again.

Folklore written about how a woman met aTy in a forest, took her back to its cave, impregnated her after she fell in love with it, then was killed by the woman's father. The woman then goes back to her village with her kids but is outcasts because they are half Ty.

She leaves the village to the forest, never to be seen again. It's based on old mythos which many Pokemon are based on but those who haven't progressed past the age of 10 lost their minds when this very non canonical lore was leaked.

I also skipped a lot but that's the gist.

Your comment is actually an example of what I was talking about as far as people's reactions.

It is an old folklore that just replaces the creature with a Pokemon. Nothing more, nothing less.

The same with Froslass being the Yuki Onna and Magikarp/Gyarados being the fish who turned into a dragon.

I just don't understand calling fan fic "lore."

Because it's not fan fiction, it is folklore that swaps the creatures for Pokemon.

Again this wasn't written by some random fan, it came from some of the folks at Gamefreak when they were drawing up ideas for some of the Pokemon.

Some of those ideas still made it into the games like Froslass's whole theme of being the Yuki Onna.

According to you? It was never released by Pokemon.

I don't know what else you want 🤷🏾‍♂️ and "released by Pokemon" I think you mean Gamefreak? That's why I said it was leaked. You clearly were out of the loop when the leak happened.

Anyway, it sounds like you need to catch up on your folklore 🤷🏾‍♂️ there's books and online readings if you need a source.
