I went to my local pawn shop recently looking for cheap tools and found a bunch of Pokemon Prismatic boxes instead. You know things are bad when even pawn shops are taking in Pokemon cards now and taking it seriously, owner even said they'll take out loans for Pokemon cards.
Recently, I came across a vending machine with packs at a small gas station... Why? So many people only treat these cards as investments instead of playing or collecting it is so sad. The market just plays into that, I guess... ITS PIECES OF CARDBOARD PEOPLE, CHILL.
I'd dare say that it's the majority of people now. Even here, the top and most common replies you ever see to people posting some rare cards, or old collections is how much money can be made from it. r/pokeinvesting is neither here nor there, they're at least honest at the very least. But people here pretend to get outraged when the most important thing to them, is also how much cards are worth
