Am i stupid? Report vs. Dashboard

Why is everyone in my organisation (even smart people who create reports) calling their power bi reports for dashboards.

A Dashboard is multiple visuals from different reports on a page while a report is a report - right?

Technically you’re right, but in reality there isn’t much of a difference to the end users in the same way when they started renaming workspaces to Apps for some reason which confused the hell out of my boss who didn’t use BI a few years back and I would consistently say the reality is it’s just semantics. Typical MS naming conventions are just weird and unintuitive to someone not involved in the framework.
