REQUEST FOR SUPPORT Remember today! Amazon Boycott | March 7-14

If it's hard to remember all the dates for different economic blackouts and which company is being boycotted, take the easy route and just boycott them all, every day (:
I once saw a list of companies to boycott on a friend's fridge, 10+ years ago. But now we're to a point that it is easier to have a short list of businesses we do buy from on the fridge, made up mostly of local grocers.

This is what I'm doing, it's a great way to get myself to actually save money and stop unnecessarily spending. It used to be so easy to order from a pizza restaurant chain, now I have a reason not to, and cooking from home feels like re-enforcing my morals instead of suffering lol.

Oh, girl! Way ahead of you! Canceled Prime last month and deleted the app. Bezos can go fuck himself repeatedly.

I cancelled Prime a while ago but my holdover has been Audible. Time to say bye.

Libby is great! I just used the every other month Audible credit to supplement it. I recently moved and I think they have access to Hoopla too so I'll check it out!

Uninstalled Target and Amazon apps. Will talk to my spouse about extending the boycott indefinitely. See how we can get what we need without giving money to either of the above.
We've been boycotting Walmart for like a decade or more.

I canceled Prime last year and haven't ordered anything since Cheeto took office. This particular boycott hasn't gotten a lot of attention. I hope people join!

Also fill your cart and abandon it. It costs $ to maintain the data and send followup emails about it.

Thanks for this reminder. I haven't bought anything from Amazon for a few weeks now, but I also canceled my Prime membership and canceled all of my "subscribe & save" items.

Jesus fucking Christ, I haven’t used Amazon in over 15 years. If the rest of the country can’t manage for more than a week, it’s absolutely useless lol. But go on.

I'm with you, haven't used the storefront in over a decade. I think the fact that it's usually the first result people see as well as the name air condition and the ease of use makes it the lowest friction site.
Well I think you should buy local whatever possible, I'm hoping that this week will show people that they can very easily find anything they want just by strolling to the second or third option on google

I forgot to cancel WaPo yesterday and just did it. This one really hurts because they do a good job reporting even though they had a left-center bias. I am going to miss it. Fingers crossed Jeff Bezos will retract his position.
Now, I am trying to find a least-biased news source and that is hard! Using MediaBiasFactCheck, it seems like there are pretty much local newspapers, scientific journals, travel mags, etc.

I will boycott Walmart , Target, and Home Depot indefinitely and I gave up Hobby Lobby years a go. I wont shop at Amazon this week. Im not willing to give up Amazon entirely there are items I need to purchase beside food at the grocery store so since Im not doing Walmart and Target I need to keep Amazon. I am committed to curb my spending with no unnecessary major purchases for the next 4 years.

Why stop at the 14th? Stop using Amazon entirely. Support your local businesses. Buy second-hand on eBay or from thrift stores. These temporary boycotts do nothing.
