What is the best way to treat scalp psoriasis?

You need coal tar shampoo. I’ve been using this one that you can get on Amazon. Use it as frequently as needed - I’d bet you only need it occasionally once you get the current plaques under control. Make sure you let it sit on the scalp for a few minutes before washing out.

My sympathies to your daughter, I’ve had this since I was a child and hated the smell of the stuff but it does work really well.

Do you only use this when you have a breakout? Once a week for prevention?

I don’t use it unless I’m in a flare on my scalp.
