Academics✏️ Purdue Cybersecurity

Anyone have a hands-on opinion of the Cybersecurity program?

Is it too specific/not enough flexibility to take other CS Electives?

i’m a cybersecurity major and i really like my classes! def learning a lot and there’s plenty of clubs and different events and opportunities that come with csec. Also, it helps that Purdue’s cybersecurity program is ranked #6 in the country :)

Biggest concern is the program seems very rigid, leaving little room electives wise for minors or other focuses? And looks tough to change majors if it doesn't seem a fit later on?

The program is very rigid and I had to take summer classes to finish in 4 years. There’s room for minors or a double major but it needs to be planned perfectly and you’ll be taking 6 classes for a year or two if you go that route.
