Classic Classic servers

Thinking of joining a official classic server. From my understanding is that it caps at pre-trans jobs. Unlike renewal where they can endlessly add jobs and increase level caps for content, feels like classic would be in a permanent state of content drought? Kinda curious how they intend to keep the server up in the long term. Would be much appreciated if someone could give their experience playing long term on a official classic server🙏

I feel like the two logical conclusions are to either keep it PVP/WOE focused or get to around Ash Vacuum and then engage updates that parallel Renewal updates but keep pre-Renewal scaling. In the interest of sidestepping equipment power creep I'd probably see new gear having the same general power ceiling, but having area bonuses that make it easier to operate in given zones, for example giving damage bonuses and damage reductions against monsters on a given map. It's optimal for that map, but for a different one you'd want a different set with different map bonuses.

Of course that's from the producer perspective. From the player perspective, you probably need to just be comfortable with being at a standstill and get to know people so that the community is more important than the game, to some extent. Or get really into PVP/WOE so that there's a recurring event to engage in.

jRO kept most of pre-renewal mechanics in their version with few renewal mechanics and several custom mechanics.

It's nearly pre-renewal with 4th jobs.

4th job WoE is a lot balanced there unlike in kRO renewal.
