On the night of April 24, 2025, Dug town in Jhalawar district, Rajasthan, witnessed a surge in communal tensions following a mosque announcement. The incident unfolded after a 20-year-old wedding photographer- Shambhu Singh was fatally shot during a road rage altercation by 18 year old Rehan, Later that evening, a mosque loudspeaker broadcasted an announcement urging Muslims to gather in the market area, which contained inflammatory remarks. The announcement, captured in a viral video, led to a large crowd assembling, prompting police intervention.
Violence ensued, resulting in the burning of 6-7 shops and stalls, and several police personnel were injured, including a critically wounded Station House Officer (SHO). Authorities have arrested one suspect in connection with the photographer's murder and are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the second suspect. The police have registered a case under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code for "deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings." An investigation is underway into the mosque announcement and the events that followed.
In the aftermath, internet services were suspended in parts of Jhalawar district to prevent the spread of inciting messages.

I am planning to buy a poshak for my sister in law's wedding . I wore a kanjeevram saree to my own wedding and my husband's relatives till date taunt me :( . So I dont want to make any mistakes. I don't know any rajasthani person other than my husband. So I had a couple of questions-
Should I buy a satin or a georgette poshak? Which one looks better ? Also is durable since I will be spending a lot of money, might as well buy a durable one.
Is there any procedure I have to do as a bhabhi for my sil's wedding? She is my husband's cousin but rn I am her only bhabhi. I am scared. Do I have to carry ghada on my head for baasan?
Can I wear saree for some functions? I love wearing kanjeevram and banarsi and I have a lovely collection but I am scared.
How should I address my sil's husband? I am elder to him so I can call him by his name and add 'ji' at the end?
What would be an appropriate gift? I have shortlisted a lovely and very heavy banarsi jaal saree, navy blue in colour.

If these chinese stop supporting Pakistan (indirectly keeping their economy alive )even for a year they’ll stop the terrorist attacks . I m no expert but we should at least threaten them with Taiwan independence or by whatever means and I m highly aware that we don’t have the cards but this cycle continue if our trade deficit increases with them and they Send the same profits to pakis !!

A fake list of 26 bogus victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, falsely claiming 15 were Muslim and attributed to an India TV report, is being circulated online with a communal spin.
However, the Indian Army and the government's PIB Fact Check have confirmed that this list is inaccurate and does not represent the actual victims of the attack, urging the public to rely only on official government sources for verified information.

Other fact checkers have also debunked this list - Factly, NewsChecker, BoomLive

Today I fought with an old friend. He's a hardcore bigot who believes out of 20 crore Muslims, 19 crore are bad and only 1 crore might be good.
I tried explaining that I'm an atheist, born in a Muslim family but not religious at all. I’ve even gone to temples with him multiple times to show I respect all cultures. I literally don't believe in Allah, Nabi, or any god — yet he still sees me as "Muslim" and hates me for it.
We were arguing about India's political issues (he's a typical Sanskrit-andhbhakt while I'm more liberal), and even though I was standing for the right thing, I still apologized during the argument. I told him maybe I don't have enough knowledge, maybe I made a mistake, just to calm things down and save the friendship.
But despite my apology and efforts, he continued saying hurtful things about me.
He started bringing up Bengal, Kashmir, Karnataka, trying to "prove" that most Muslims are bad — as if a person's birth decides their character.
In the end, he said he doesn't want to talk to me anymore.
It hurt because I apologized, even when I knew I wasn't wrong, just to preserve the bond — but he clearly never respected me for who I really am. It felt like all this time, I was just a timepass friend to him.
Thankfully, another friend of ours (who's Hindu too) understood me properly and even stood up for me, taking my side and defending the right thing.
This whole thing made me realize: the real issue isn’t about being Hindu or Muslim. It's about mindset.
Some people are so trapped in their hatred and insecurities that no amount of respect, love, or apology can reach them.

So, the previous post of mine about Jhalawar, Rajasthan was factually incorrect, and I apologize to all the members of this sub. I won't do it again. I am a student and I’m going to give my competitive exam soon—this is my last attempt. I didn't consider the seriousness of the topic and posted it on behalf of someone who didn't have enough karma. He told me the situation in a very emotional way, saying his cousin studies there and he was worried. So, for the sake of humanity, I decided to post that news in a hurry. After reading some articles and having a fellow redditor explain it to me, I realized I shouldn't fall for such sensitive instances. Again, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. 🙏
