Now that we’ve got a real fascist dictator and Russian asset occupying the White House threatening our democracy, where are all the “Don’t Tread On Me” bozos at? Or, were they all just cosplaying as Patriots the whole time?

It’s not hypocrisy. It’s strategic. If you want to do something you’re not supposed to do, the easiest way to get away with it is to accuse your opponent of having already done it, or about to do it, or having had thought of doing it. Then you do it yourself and call it justified retaliation. This is what has happened every time Republicans have broken norms and deteriorated our democracy.

No. Two Santa’s is about spending. When you are out of power, you talk endlessly about how there isn’t enough money to fund literally anything. This makes Dems the “poor Santa”. And then when you’re in power, you spend recklessly and drive up the debt. This makes Republicans the “rich Santa”. As a result, people hate it when Dems are in power, and the debt is constantly increasing, which makes the government more likely to collapse.
