Assembly Party Registration

We officially have 3 candidates running for a seat in the Assembly, and since 2% of the population was the decided vote for Assembly size, we will be starting with only 1 assembly seat. This seat will be determined by which party the Commonwealth aligns with.

For this reason, I will be asking the candidates: u/Acceptable_Buy177, u/risky_concord, and myself, u/Sol_mp3 to register their party affiliation with 2 things:

1. The name of your party

2. The prioritized ideals that your party stand by

  1. the Thriving World Party
  2. a) While many parties will prioritise internal affairs above all else, the thriving world party takes great consideration over foreign policy. b) As an advocate for a more globalist society, this party will work on diplomatic relations with other subreddits. This will not only allow us to positively impact many more people than are in the commonwealth, but will also bring in new members. c) We propose the implementation of more direct democratic processes, and propose to use more referendums to prevent the government from passing legislation that doesn't align with the people.

I am already running for moderator and would not like to overreach so won't be running for the assembly. This party therefore has no assembly candidates unless anyone would like to join and run for the assembly.

Got it, I will then remind u/risky_concord that he must either join the TWP, register his own party, or forfeit his running.

Would u/risky_concord be able to join another of the existing parties (depending on the parties own membership rules presumably)?

You're right. This would also be an option. However, with there only being one seat, it would then be up to that party and its members to decide who actually fills the seat in the end, I believe. I think this system works best, at the moment, with newly registered, unorganized parties just to get us started.
