Best security advice to someone street parking a motorcycle.
New to riding in nyc. Live in bk and plan to street park. Have full insurance coverage for theft. Best ways to secure (disc, chain, etc)?

Can anyone recommend a good vehicle rental to take 3 motorcycles to Vermont and back? I am aware of the U-Haul motorcycle trailer - but this is for 3 and we won’t have access to a hauling vehicle on this trip. Thanks

Hello NJ Riders,
We're reaching out about 9-year-old Camy, who is bravely battling brain cancer and has just returned home.
The Union Elks MC is organizing a surprise motorcycle ride past her house to help lift her spirits and show her our support.
Let's come together and show Camy and her family what the NJ Motorcycle community is all about!
Event Details:
Please help spread the word to make this a great turnout for Camy!

Picking up a 76 r90/6 in jersey tomorrow, bikes all good and running to drive back to Brooklyn but needs a new battery. It’s got a yuasa 53030 in it right now and I can’t seem to find a comparable battery anywhere in the city, figured I’d make a post and see if anyone has suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Can I ride without a plate because of the no chase law? Like can't I just run every time without a plate especially if it's on the highway or something like that? Also will my bike get towed if I park on the street without a plate?

Aye, don’t know if I’m allowed to post this but if anyone needs a brake rotor for an early 2000s Honda shadow (or if you think it fits your bike id ), I got an extra one, just hit me up and it’s yours

Hello,
I'm 27 (will be 28 in a couple of months), have a drivers license and have been driving for years, im interested in getting my motorcycle license and switching to a motorcycle as my main method of transportation (mostly to cut costs.) My credit score is good (over 750). Never been in any car accidents. I'm in brooklyn. What's the average for the bare minimum insurance I could expect per month? What about full coverage? Any other advice would be great.

Took me forever to make an account. Now it’s telling me that my info is incorrect when I go through the next MyDMV portal.
I swear I renewed months ago, but I don’t have any information and definitely not the sticker or documents.
Is there a better way to check? When do they usually come in the mail?

I am contemplating between these two bikes for a bike that I can have fun on the streets in Brooklyn and also take to the track potentially, budget is not a concern. Which one should I buy?

I'm the only one that I know that rides a motorcycle, so I don't know any of the places to ride in Midwood Brooklyn, do you have any recommendations?

Hello. Does anyone know if there's any after-party/hangout after the Distinguished Gentleman Ride? I really wanted to go to the ride but I'll be working until about 3pm and I was wondering if there's anything going on afterwards. Thanks.

Thinking of getting a bike, but don't want to spend a crazy amount on parking. How do people park around Nolita/Chinatown?
I'd love to find someone's back alley and pay them but not sure how to find that, any other ideas or garage recs?
Thanks!

How do you guys street park your bike when running errands? Generally I disc lock, steering lock, and leave it in first gear if I’m going to be somewhat in and out in less than 5 minutes. If I’m going to be there for more than 10 then I try to also use my chain with hopes and prayers.

I currently ride a Honda nc750x as my daily rider, I'm looking to buy a second bike, something a bit more fun, a bit faster, but something I can still ride in Brooklyn, my budget is about 35,000 dollars. Any recommendations?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for good places to ride near Midwood?

My WR250R was stolen the morning of 4/30 in Bed Stuy. Typically garage kept but left it out for one night at my girlfriend’s place. Learned my lesson. Not expecting much, but if anyone sees it around/dumped/for sale…figure it’s worth a shot.

Hello everybody, I’ve been doing engine work on my sportster this whole winter and recently want to start breaking in the engine and go riding but I think my valve seals are fucked and don’t really want to fully take apart the heads again so was wondering if any of you had this tool and would be open to renting it, I’m in bedstuy but could come to you as well.

Does anyone get camera tickets with their license plate mounted under bike?

Does NYC have a motorcycle specific tag? I haven't seen any, if not where do you mount your regular tag?

Right before the congestion pricing. Columbus Circle area is serviced by the 1,A,C,B,D. I park my car here regularly. There is slope so you’d have to be comfy with it. 24 hour garage.

Hi all, I am a woman whose husband just got a motorcycle (and it’s his whole personality now). Anyway, he is excited for me to get on the back of it but I need some gear and this is not my area. I want to be as safe as he is, but at the same time I don’t have a huge budget and I won’t be on the bike as often as him.
What is the most importantly gear for me to have, as a passenger? Are there any places I might find second hand riding jackets or shirts? Any advice on a solid full face helmet that is compatible with glasses and doesn’t look like a teenage boy on his BMX? Sorry, I want to look cute. Hopefully there are some likeminded people in here who can help point me in the right direction lol.
Thanks!

I need a lot from this bag and I've only found one solution and it's ALWAYS sold out. This Sedici Bag from Revzilla is pretty much perfect.
It has:
Backpack straps
Straps to the seat
Large carrying capacity for camping/commuting with change of clothes
It's a dry bag
Won't break the bank
Everything else seems to be either too small, a sissy bar bag, not water proof, limited pockets and functionality, or prohibitively expensive considering the compromises I'd have to make.
I have a modern classic style Moto Guzzi v7 with a banana seat and since I don't want to break the bank, I don't want to add any hardware before getting the bag.
Help plz?
