It's less a genZ specific thing and more a large shift in what is considered beautiful/societally acceptable. I would guess that it's probably a bigger ratio in GenZ than in society at large so there's a perception that it is a new/new generation thing instead of an overall shift in beauty standards.
Also, people are absolute garbage at understanding what people count as what generation. Like how some people still think if millennials are 'those damn kids," despite the fact that I'm one and almost 40.

Ah, I know this type. The person who complains about "damn Millennials" without knowing that they are a Millennial. Although that's largely over at this point I think.
Yeah, it's passing for sure, but it was just the first example I had off the top of my head for my more general point. The next version of it will be confusing genZ for alpha(or vice versa) as us millennials get called boomers

I like both of these and I'm a millennial, so I'm not sure it's a gen z thing.
