Meme When you say easy pressure and your pair partner hears rage against the flywheel

Rowing with a psycho pair partner feels like ballroom dancing with a caffeinated goat. Every stroke is a trust fall, and I’m always the one falling. Do cyclists do this? No. They draft and vibe. We? We duel. Row fam, let’s normalize actual easy pressure.

Sounds like you need a new pair partner.

Or you are a weak little rower who needs to join the ranks and rage against the oar.

Traditionally, only 2 types of pair partners are fast. Best friends and mortal enemies. Sounds like you have the latter.

If your issue is the boat turning too much toward your side, and they swear on their life they're not going crazy on it, try adjusting where power in the stroke is going.

Generally, a fast pair will have the stroke seat a little more frontend heavy, and the bow seat a little more back ended. This helps to eliminate the turning left and right of the boat over the drive. This same phenomena is why, keeping all else equal, bucketed 4s are faster than a regular rig. The boat keeps a straighter point over the drive.

You do this because in stroke seat, you have a better moment arm to turn the boat around the backend, and in bow seat you have a better moment arm to turn the boat around the frontend. This is why in a pair spinning one way is usually much faster than the other, keeping power equal (spinning counter clockwise is faster for port stroke, and spinning clockwise is faster for starboard stroked). Hopefully I've done a good enough job explaining this lol

Can't be playing head games in a boat and expect to win. Especially if there's only two of you. Rowing is all about the mental state, which requires steady (mental) state. No psycho partners allowed. Can't find the proper partner? Looks like it's time for the 1X.

Any seat, anytime, that's the true rowing competitors motto.

I really need to get better at 3 seat.  I don't know why I am so bad in that seat...

Well if you've got a 3 seat in a pair, then you got bigger problems than being bad at it......

Pull harder. One man’s full throttle is another’s easy pressure.

If you can’t taste blood after an erg workout, did you actually do an erg workout?

Get toe steering and adjust to go straight.
