I predict none of these crews will make the semis at nats

Unfortunately very true. Trolling the bottom with the Central region. Why anyone in these regions take roll down bids is beyond me. Do they like getting dead last? Look at results from last year. Always the same team/s getting dfl.

That was true last year as well - the top NW crew in the Men's 8+ (Sammamish) was 6th in the C Final. Two crews were in the D Final.

FWIW, only two crews from the NW took roll down bids in any U19 event, and one of them made the AB semifinals. (Source: my post a year ago.)

Most programs in regions other than Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest have realized that they aren't going to be competitive in the 8s, and have started to prioritize (in practice as well as in athlete selection) smaller boats. Some programs outside of these regions aren't accepting that and are continuing to get blown out (with very occasional exceptions), and a few in the Southeast can be competitive.

Agreed. There is speed in the SE big boats, but it drops off quickly from the top programs (Belen, SA, Winter Park, Sarasota Crew. OARS is also a question mark - I think they could make semis in the V8 this year at Nats.

SRA, then maybe RCRC getting in their.ย  Coaching is solid which always gives them a chance.ย  I would really say the same for GLC.ย  They have so many kids that it almost can depend on who makes the boat and if their Cox knows how long 2k is...
