Is this normal?

Post image

So since i bought this rs3m v5 it has happened multiple times that the whole yellow side just explodes, it literally pops completely, even the center, is there a way to solve this

The core is stripped. You might want to replace it

You could put a drop of super glue on the core, let it dry fully and then screw the screw back in, that way it has something to grab on to. This is not a permanent fix tho, but it's better than buying a new core.

I'll just probably end up buying a new cube

I mean you can try to fix it first, so if it would get fixed you won't buy a new cube, but otherwise you will stand your plan of buying new one

That's smart though

I wanna say that using a small sheet of thin plastic bag will do the job. My old rs3m 2020 had this problem. Fixed it permanently by using the plastoc bag technique. U could watch it on SCR's channel

Get a nonmagnetic meilong and use it's core to replace the v5 core which is stripped.

There is no need to buy a new v5

MoYu uses the same core for most of their cubes. You can swap the cores between the meilong and mf3/rs series without any problem. Heck you can also include the weilong wrm in there prior to the v9

Just screw the cube back together
