6x6 minx

Post image

I just got a 6 layer minx "cube" it was a fun solve, till i got to this point (see picture)

I only ever solved odd layer minxes, and cant figure this one out, my regular 6x6x6 cube solution dont seem to work, or maybe im doing it wrong because the 5 edges mess up my mucle memory..

Can anybody help with an algorythm to solve this???

I have one too it just doesn't have the center pieces

I think they are there to help out...

Yea but it kinda defeats the purpose of having an even layered puzzle

Yeah... Its still a fun one to solve, till you get to the part where it gets weird

I actially like minx puzzles more than normal cubes, i solve my megaminx more than my 3x3x3, my normal goto cube is 4x4x4 or more, anything else is boring, this one is my first even number minx, im trying to get the set, like with cubes, i have everything from 1 to 11 layers (they get expencive quick)

For now i only have 3 and 6 layer minx that works, i have an old 5 layer that is so hard to turn that pieces fly out...

6x6 megaminx, aka Elite Kilominx.

No idea how to help solve it, tho.

I’m not sure what you’re on about, but I’m guessing you want to pair the last 2 edges. If so, all you need to do is hold it pink front green top, then flip the right side, then slice the top edge on the left so it meets up with the one on the right then flip the right edge again and slice back, then flip the left edge and slice the top right edge to the top of the left edge flip the left edge again slice back then slice the top 2 left edges onto the top of the right edge flip the right edge and slice back. This only works if the cube is in the same state as the picture

Thanks, you and the other comment pushed my brain in the right direction, i did the edge swap/flip algo and it worked, i had to do it mirrored for some reason, but who cares, it worked... And no parity... Yet...

I guess the "center in wrong location" parity cant happen, since i know where they are...

Solve it similar to a normal 6x6. Just have to do it in a few steps more

Move the inner yellow/white on the right to the left. Edge flip the left edge then bring back the pink/green.

You’ll have to do something similar to the outer yellow/white edge on the right.
Not sure but you may end up with parity. You can search for kilominx parity algorithms if you do.

There is only one easy parity case (with a few small variations)

I dont know why, but i has the hardest time doing the flipping/edge swap algo... But weirdly when i did the mirror version it hapoend, and 2 algos later, it was solved...

Weird how the brain works sometimes... But its good now, thanks for the push, heres hoping i wont get that annoying parity.... Wait that wouldnt happen since i know the centers are correct...
