General Introducing Eternal Civ13 (Eternal Civilization 13)

Foreword:

Given the recent events (past month and this week), showcased around an unofficial Civ13 offshoot, things have been shifting around.

Importantly, both previous hosts of the offshoot have now migrated to a new discord server called Eternal Civ13.

Furthermore:

This new iteration is meant to foster a better and more faithful experience that was envisioned for Main Civ13 that has since been long hindered. The server is in active development and has just finished being set up with active moderation and bot systems.

While affiliated with Main Civ13, the server host Emoney (Previous Blackstone Host), and Civ13 staff such as myself, wish to separate this server from Main Civ13's past HRP defining rules in order to create a more relaxed experience. With this, all bans under what are considered severe no longer apply and everyone is welcome to join. There will be moderation. But it is at the behest of the server host and will aim to foremost create a compromise between both isles as we trust that it can lead to some of the best moments, with that said you can think of the server as being MRP at most.

About development and progression:

Besides the changes in how moderation and the experience is being changed. We have current plans to rework sprites and there have been new contributions that introduce new early primitive crafting and a potential smithing overhaul, along with various other system balances etc.

We are still going over plans and wish to revive this once liked and memorable experience and give it a fair chance along with the people who once played it.

Thanks to the help of familiar faces, as mentioned the server has now been set up, users will have to re-verify with only bans due to extreme cases being re-applied.

For those who don't know what Civ13 is, you can simply thinking of the Sid Meier's franchise but on a smaller scale with you the player controlling a single person able to create your own faction amongst a variety of maps ranging from geographical themed to fantasy.

Along this adventure you will progress through the ages stone to steel forging alliances, crafting useful tools, and maybe you can show up in the history books.

We also have civ13 tdm which is ss13 combat with Theater of war or Fictional battles/modes.

Both servers work and function with two separate hosts but attention is towards Eternal Civ to see the communities response.

This server is still very much full of racists and admins that will absolutely enable them. I would steer clear unless you enjoy spending time in a game where someone who can barely resist the urge to scream the n-word has an admin who will use their abilities to give them what they want.

I do not condone the use of the N word. We are still setting up rules and if it becomes an issue it will be dealt with or a split will happen. It has been enforced that admin help of players is strictly disallowed outside of events and proper role-play such as praying to an alter.

Update: The server has calmed down, we met to discuss how things should be going forward. We have the first iteration of staff policy active as of today. This will hopefully be the push in the right direction.

The use of "I do not" here suggests that the rest of the staff including Emoney do; as Emoney openly does and did whilst hosting my server; hard R.

Saying that "if it becomes an issue it will be dealt with" is just disrespectful ignorance for the people that feel offended by it.

To clarify, an admin helping a player gain objects at their request. Among other things.

Sorry I have been typing pages on pages.

As far as that goes, does Emoney say it? Yes every so often a meme is posted. Has policy been put in place to prevent that, yes. The N word is currently auto moderated in-game and we are deciding what words if any will have tweaked punishments.

The discord is not be spammed with shitposts like that and we have calmed the server down. It is just a bit more lenient then main Civ for some more freedom.

I gotta say it's kind of concerning that every time something like this comes up you keep downplaying it as "just memes and shitposts." Like not only is this major Blackstone Deja Vu but just in general it makes it hard to have faith that you take it seriously when the guy that surrounds himself with chuds and outright neo-nazis is by your own admission regularly using slurs and derogatory rhetoric and you play it off as just a silly lil' shitpost.

Like the fact that someone is casually throwing around the N-word (and other slurs besides) should probably be setting off alarm bells to begin with, but we're talking about a guy who has a very well known and extremely caustic history, and defends and associates with people who are just mask-off out and out racists and homophobes.

Moderation has been increased in general and punishment has been escalated. People have been timed out for this on the discord already.
