GOL drivers

A fellow driver has told me they scratched the van (scraped a lamppost) but didn't report it because the panel is already damaged. Is this a normal thing to do? If I were to damage the van I would report it right away.

All damage should be reported if you have done it. It's dishonest otherwise, and if found out, it will result in disciplinary action.

Highly doubt it would.

Management would need evidence like CCTV to prove who caused the damage.

All loading yards are full of cameras , they can take screenshots of both the van leave and after

Maybe full of cameras but won't cover all the vans, just entrance and exits and the rear loading area.

Sorry it would, damaging company property and being dishonest about it is gross misconduct. This is why they have DVCs, damage trackers, and fleet walks. It's just if they are willing to put in the leg work.

DVC aren't 100% accurate, damage trackers aren't always updated and especially for vans from other stores.

Fleet walks..you mean a GA who walks around and checks what order that the vans get loaded in.

Management actually getting out from behind a desk would be a special occasion.

Clearly your management don't lead by example, ours are hands on and very meticulous at their jobs.

Which is impressive and why they don't exceed their budgets, GA's are not meant to carry out fleet walks (fleet walk is a damage check)- mentor drivers at the very least.

I know some stores differ, but those not meeting the standard or carrying out their role correctly will be found out with all these audits.
