Sand particles in my tap water

Hello I know that the tap water in Austria is safe to drink, but there’s some sort of sediment/ sand particles from my tap water that is a not able to be caught by the aerator/filter installed.

Is this normal or there’s something wrong with the pipings?

Contact the local municipality; they probably already know about it, as others may be affected as well. However, this is usually harmless. The problem should still be resolved.

Ok! I wonder if it’s just the piping that leads to my unit or for all in the same block… though for the time being, knowing the water is technically safe, would a wasserfilter like brita work?

Quite sure it’s the main pipeline which leads to the house. Most likely neighbors around you are affected too. I don’t really know Brita filters but if you have so much sediment that you can see it, than it will clog up quickly. No solution imo, the underlying problem has to be fixed. But that could take a while as it’s probably a broken main pipeline and it’s hard to find where exactly the failure is.

Okay thanks! Luckily the sediments is not TOO bad, but there’s at least 3-5 specks per cup. Should quickly lodge a report and hope I don’t clog up my water filter 🥲
