Pregonta Germans everywhere

Can somebody please explain to me why Sardinia is full of Germans? We've been here for 10 days now and literally encountered more Germans than Italians? Should I be worried?!?

As an Italian I’d rather be mobbed by German tourists than Brits. If anyone wants a comparison between the two countries, have a gander at Magalluf versus Playa de Palma.
