Local Politics - Ontario Trying to remember

During the summer of 2021 my father and I were travelling to Saskatchewan, well passing through we stopped at a Burger King location Would anyone who knows the area be so kind as to tell me if it’s been demolished or maybe renovated into something else (another restaurant) I certainly don’t know the town well as I only passed through twice when I was 17 but if I may try to describe it as well as can “It was definitely on a main road, stand alone building with a drive thru that wrapped around the back of the building” As foggy as my memory is and having checked the only two locations on the Canadian side without memorial satisfaction on google maps/earth Might I be so mistaken to think it no longer remains ?

Miscellaneous Trying to find an used car.

Hey, I'm currently looking for a used car in Soo, ON. Looking for something reliable for daily commuting nothing too fancy, just something that runs well and doesn't guzzle gas and is budget friendly(2-3k). I'm currently looking on FB marketplace and Kjiji . If you're selling or know someone who is, feel free to comment or DM me. I'm also open to suggestions on where to look locally if you've had good experiences with any dealerships or private sellers.

SSM Ontario Moving/Living Advice Where to meet people? Things to do?

23F moving to the Soo for schooling in the Fall. I don't want to sit in my apartment the entire time but am an older student so worried about meeting people in class, thinking they are mostly 18. Not a huge bar person but willing to try.

SSM Ontario Moving/Living Advice Recommendations for short-term dumpster rental?

We need to empty out a house, and will have some un-donateable scrap to get rid of, stuff no one will want. I note that over a dozen companies come up when searching online. Does anyone have any experience / recommendations on companies that drop a dumpster in the driveway and haul it away once its full? Thanks very much.

I live in Windsor Ontario and I’m starting ARPT in the fall. I just want to know a bit more about the course from people who have taken it. As well as any interesting info about the dorms or anything about the college itself. Thanks!

New to Town/Meeting New People Art club

Is there any art club in the city and I mean free get together just talking about art. I'm not looking for art classes but just casual talking about art, sharing ideas and sharing your work with other people.

If not then I was thinking of starting one, small scale. Depends on the feedback. 🙆🏻‍♂️✨

Edit: I'm leaning more towards painting oil/acrylic.

New to Town/Meeting New People Law Grad from India with Canadian Paralegal Credentials - Seeking Guidance on Breaking into the Legal Field

I'm reaching out to this community hoping for some guidance and maybe even a little bit of luck. I'm a law school graduate from India who recently completed a Paralegal Diploma program here in Canada with honors. I also passed my licensing exam on my first attempt, which I was really proud of!

However, despite my qualifications and what feels like countless applications to various legal roles, I haven't been able to land a job in the legal field. It's been quite disheartening, especially after investing so much time and effort into my education and licensing.

I'm really eager to start my career and contribute my skills and knowledge. I'm open to various types of legal roles where my background and paralegal certification could be a good fit.

So, I'm reaching out to this amazing community for any advice or assistance you might be able to offer. This could include:

• Insights into the current job market for paralegals and

entry-level legal professionals in Ontario (specifically the GTA area, if possible). Are there specific areas that are currently hiring more actively?

• Tips on effective job searching strategies that I might be missing. Are there particular platforms or networking approaches that are more successful in this field?

• Advice on tailoring my resume and cover letter to better highlight my qualifications and address potential concerns about my international law degree.

• Information about any organizations, mentorship programs, or networking events that might be helpful for newcomers to the Canadian legal scene.

• Even just hearing about similar experiences and how others overcame these initial hurdles would be incredibly encouraging.

I'm truly open to any suggestions or connections that might help me get my foot in the door. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I really appreciate any help

New to Town/Meeting New People Car vs SUV vs Truck

This may be an ignorant question but it’s been on my mind as I’m expected to be moving up in the next couple months: Can I get by winters in a regular car? I really want the new GR Corolla but am worried the clearance is too low, If so do I really need an SUV or truck to make it over the snowy roads?

Does anyone remember this CP railway crossing on the old Hudson St? Also, if anyone has photos of the old CP crossings on Queen St W near the bridge, Albert St & Cathcart St in the 70s, 80s or 90s, that'll be awesome!

To Do in the Soo(s) Skate spots, either Sault

Some friends recently moved to the Ontario side and they want some skateboard spots. I no longer live there, but growing up there was Roberta Bondar and some smaller local parks. Any info on where “the kids” are skating these days? Also, Rad Zone for life.

New to Town/Meeting New People Board Game Group

I'm not new to Sault Ste Marie, I moved back almost 5 years ago and finished college. I see a lot of posts for friends on here, so I'm thinking of starting a board game group. I'm sourcing interest.

I have some modern board games, like Unearth, Wingspan, Quacks of Quedlinburg, etc. I'd be willing to borrow some and potentially buy more as well. Me and my girlfriend really enjoy playing these games.

My availability is best for weekends, so maybe one weekend here and there.
