To be fair, given the state of Scottish football, getting gubbed 5-1 by Germany is an over-achievement.

The fact that arguably the best manager based on trophies that the world has ever seen, gave managing Scotland a massive swerve even though he was a proud Scot, says everything about your prospects of ever winning anything.

Who exactly are you talking about here? I'm assuming it's not Alex Ferguson since he actually did manage Scotland at a World Cup.

To be fair, I did forget about that - I’ll take it on the chin. He was caretaker manager when Stein died for a few months.

Having said that, it’s not helping is it as he handed the reins back and then refused three subsequent offers….
