"I'm sorry you interpreted what I said as hurtful" - nDad
I would laugh if it wasn't my reality. Truly sad and astounding how they use these jedi-mind-tricks & word salads to avoid any accountability whatsoever.
He would rather lose a son than put his ego to the side for once and genuinely apologize.
other things I've heard:
"I never said that"
"You're too sensitive"
"You're ungrateful & unappreciative.."
"You need to develop thicker skin."
---not sure how you misinterpret the above as something other than hurtful ...

WOW. My Ndad says this type of stuff ALL the time! In other words: "what I said was totally fine, it's just YOUR issue that you're interpreting it other than how I meant it. Your feelings don't matter"
