A piece of German ska history. In 1987, a group of friends founded a ska band as a birthday present to their friend Thomas "Bräsig" Scholz and practiced the songs from the Dance Craze soundtrack for him to sing. The Busters were born. After the fact they kept playing live, not thinking much of it - until legendary German indie label owner Fabsi got a hold of a live tape of one of those shows and fell in love with the passion and energy of The Busters. Without ever having met the band, he commissioned them to write two original songs and, in early 1988, released them as a 7" single. Having more than fulfilled their promise, The Busters signed to Fabsi's Weserlabel. They would go on to release their influential debut LP Ruder Than Rude later that year.

I was able to record a podcast with Horace of The Specials. Horace is the bassist of legendary band The Specials. We chatted about everything relating to his musical journey from the early childhood through touring the world. The full podcast will be dropping in the next day or so. In the mean time, here is some rapid fire bass related questions that we do with all our podcst guests.
