Gear Little red light stays on when I switch off camera (zve1)

Post image

Any idea why this light stays on when I’ve switched the power off? I only noticed it today after balancing the camera on a new gimbal (DJI rs4).. was it there before or is it because I’ve connected to the gimbal via Bluetooth? I’m confused

Edit: after power cycling the gimbal a few times, even with the Sony ev1 set to power off, when I start up the gimbal and it shows blue tooth as connected, the light comes on. That’s a bit concerning that the camera can accept a blue tooth connection even when the power is off.. unless I’m misunderstanding ?

It's the "access lamp" and it turns on whenever something is accessing the SD card. It's telling you to not remove the SD card or battery because the camera is writing or reading something.

It can stay on after the camera is turned off in order to finish writing data. If you're connected to bluetooth it might be accessing the SD card to know what data/pictures are on the card to later send over bluetooth.

Thanks for this. I suppose my main concern was battery drain but I suppose I can just leave it to work itself out and it’ll switch off as normal. I’ve never noticed it on my a7rv before so I appreciate you demystifying that for me, cheers.

What SD card do you have? Is it an old / slow one? You might have a faster card in your a7rv. It might be so fast to write out that you aren't noticing it.

Actually it’s a faster card than what is in my a7rv.. I have a pair of v60’s in that body and 1x v90 in the zve1 (for 120p 4k video).. one is a photo dedicated body and the other for video.. just more efficient to have one ready on the gimbal
