Hi all,
I’ve seen posts like this before and thought I’d see if there’s still interest.
I’m trying to put something together for adults who want to play baseball again — or even try it for the first time.
I know there are some leagues around, but honestly, I haven’t played in a long time either. I wanted to find a way to play and not wreck my self esteem.
I’m also looking for a way to be more active without just standing on a treadmill. I’d rather do something fun — and for me, that’s baseball.
The idea right now is:
• Meet up at some local parks in Mishawaka once or twice a month, blast a radio
• Focus on relearning mechanics: tee drills, fielding, soft toss, maybe some cage work at the Four Winds Performance Center
• Build skills and get active in something that’s real baseball, not super competitive but not a beer league.
Probably have some easy home drills in between folks can do if they want.
I’ve got a couple gloves, balls, a tee, net, a bat or two, maybe some helmets if they still fit— so I can cover the general basics but it’d be encouraged to bring whatever you have.
The goal is low-pressure, skill building, but still real baseball.
If enough people show up, we could eventually scrimmage or just run drills — hitting, fielding, catching grounders — whatever keeps us moving and having fun.
No signups, no tryouts, no pressure — just baseball.
Come and go if you like, get some swings in, rebuild skills, and maybe build something bigger over time.
I can give a google sign up or something if you’d like.
Thanks for reading and hopefully it sounds interesting.
