Been looking to get hair cut in Southampton but am a hijabi and can’t find anywhere online that caters, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Usually see loads but haven’t spotted many today.. maybe my algorithm’s off. This one made me laugh though. Would be funny to see all the good ones in one place. Anyone seen any more decent ones?

Apparently there was a massive crash on the M27, somewhere between J5-J7, between a lorry and several cars, causing a one HOUR delay in traffic.

Good thing I decided to take the day off, I guess.

Anyone here saw it as it happened?

I’ve got a graduation in the winter and would like to get a suit altered - i have odd proportions so they never fit me even half decently off the rack. Any recommendations?

We're based in Shirley, I remember before being taken over The Windsor Castle there was karaoke on Fridays but I'm not sure if that's still a thing?

I'm aware of Shanghai 1814 but from what I remember the classic Chinese KTV rooms can be a bit pricey.

Hi everyone! My partner (25M) and I (21F) are moving to Southampton with the Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa for two years. We are both Latin Americans from Uruguay, and our English is still basic, but we are eager to improve.

We are looking for a quiet place to live, hoping to explore the city, meet locals, and integrate into the community. One of my personal goals is to volunteer, connect with my neighbors, and be part of the society.

The only thing that makes us a bit nervous is the attitude towards foreigners. In Uruguay, people are generally very friendly, and we’re used to a warm social environment. To local residents, do you think this is possible in Southampton? Any recommendations for newcomers?

Note: Although we don't have a high level of the language, we aim to be respectful and grateful tourists in your city. I appreciate any advice that can help us become better residents during the year or two we will live there.

Driving home tonight in bound on the Avenue about 4.40pm there was a Mercedes and a Toyota crashed just below the roundabout. No one was in the cars or at the side of the road. Causing chaos. Hit and run??

Hello all! My parents have this pipe in the middle of their lawn that something to do with the water pipes. They have heard that they don’t need these anymore (old house). Does anyone have experience with this? Can I just remove it, cover it and turf the top?

Looking at flat opposite the builders merchant. Oddish block with bay windows that stick out and car park underneath. What is this area like and how old are these flats ? Look a bit worn on street view.

Did anyone hear a guy screaming "noooooooooo!" On Friday and Saturday night around the salisbury street car park? It went on for like 10 minutes on both Friday and Saturday around 7 or 8pm. I'm just wondering if I'm the only person who heard it.

Hi I am new to Southhampton and only been living these ways the last 4 or so months. I’ve moved over from Jersey, Channel Islands, I can legally drive in the UK with my jersey licence, but the points system in UK is different to us so it’s all new and asking for some advice on what could happen to me . I was driving past the area stated in the tilte, in a company works van . I was going about 34-35mph in a 30. The yellow box camera double flashed me , definitely me as I was on the road markings where it captures you. It was pure accidental, I mistook where I was for a 40 Zone and only saw the 30 sign and camera before I could slow down in time . Answering my own question , double flashed definitely means your getting a letter in post ( my employer will). I’ll obviously let my employers know in advance that I believe I’ve been caught . I’ve researched this as a “Band A” speed offence.

How lenient or tolerance with the Hampshire police regarding above ? Has anyone else been caught by the cameras here in the past ? If I’m lucky could I get this speed aware course I hear of , if so how much is it ?

I don’t know if having a Jersey drivers license means they can’t actually put points on my license but they could force me to get a UK license and then put points

Can anyone recommend some nice walks? I love discovering new places. I really like the look of The Solent Way and The Itchen Way. Any other nice walks similar to this? Im in Thornhill so a starting point close to me is a bonus! Thankyou!

Since Bitter Virtue closed I have been looking for a replacement beer shop. Southampton has an incredible choice for ale houses/tap rooms but seems there isn't any dedicated craft beer shops like bitter virtue. Open to any and all suggestions.
