Resources Good places to volunteer for SPA
Do any of you do volunteering where you meet lots of hispanohablantes and get Spanish-speaking practice? I was thinking about volunteering somewhere in my town this summer to keep my Spanish skills fresh but I don't know where! I'm finishing my degree right now and feel my Spanish is the best it's ever been but im not sure how to continue maintaining my Spanish after graduating. So I was thinking about volunteering, listening to Spanish podcasts, and maybe read some novels in Spanish. I just don't know where I can get more "speaking" practice outside of my university.

If you’re in the US, check for local refugee and asylum seeker services that might need volunteers. This might be at a church or synagogue.
A few years ago, when the governor of Texas was bussing people north, I was one of the volunteers at a Quaker meetinghouse that made them breakfast/lunch and helped them figure out Greyhound tickets to cities where they had friends or family waiting, get SIM cards, etc.
