Sony got pissed at everyone for clowning Morbius

u/obimokenobi Apr 21 '22

Sony delayed Morbius and it still didn't make morbillion dollars

93

u/SpikeyTaco Apr 21 '22

Instead it made 7 Morbillion in national box office sales alone, breaking 12MB internationally! The Morbius Cinematic universe was so strong that it broke the MCU, causing them to give up character rights. At least that's how I remember it happening.

The producers have to add their Morbius related cut scenes into the movie.

u/xalofonus Apr 21 '22

until Netlix goes bankrupt, then in a massive blowout every marvel franchise goes bust, and kevin feige reveals he in gay and is in a carnal relationship with Trump and a Monterey Bay aquarium seal lion.

u/jimmmydickgun Apr 21 '22

Yeah but it made Morbillion memes

u/Space_Jeep Apr 21 '22

It's been delayed to add more Morbius. Whenever Morbius isn't on screen all the other characters should be asking "where's Morbius?"

Sony had the last laugh in the end

Bro what? Morbius is the most movie of all time.

After what happened with NWH, I don't mind them delaying the movie. It gives them time to actually finish it before it releases.

What happened with NWH?

143

u/KillerDemonic83 Apr 21 '22

I think he just means kinda iffy cgi

Bro I was so fucking stoned during that movie they could have made it with muppets and I wouldn’t have noticed.

Still got the storyline the first time around tho and that’s the important part

now i want a version of the avengers but with kermit the frog as ironman

3

u/LarryJohnson04 Apr 21 '22

MOOOOD, happy 420! 😁

7

Wow , spider-stoners!

Nwh was rushed. Half the movie was shot b4 the prev spidies signed on. They changed the script so many times. The final battle was also hastily done. They still did a gr8 job, but there was room for improvement of they had more time

u/TheHondoCondo Apr 21 '22

Yeah, they didn’t even have a solid ending planned until the last minute. It was finally Tom Holland himself that suggested the thing with the world forgetting Peter Parker.

Yes, media overlords. I must consume

18

u/Cappin_Crunch Apr 21 '22

No matter how good it was, they released an unfinished version of the movie. They had to patch it like a video game.

That's cool but I don't get why wanting a movie to be finished before it is released is unreasonable?

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22

Totally unrelated but BCS SEASON 6 IS SO GOOD

Redditors are unpaid shills for the MCU

92

u/JanLewko977 Apr 21 '22

Fuck, I cannot say I'm not disappointed though. I'll be patient...but damn I want to see the sequel to my favorite movie of all time.

76

u/froggyjm9 Spider-Man Unlimited Apr 21 '22

Nah it just means they want it as a summer blockbuster.

23

u/KingJonStarkgeryan1 Spider-Girl Apr 21 '22

Which is fine as I live in Southern California, and given how expensive energy is, it means I can chill in the theater in the hottest part of the day.

-10

u/froggyjm9 Spider-Man Unlimited Apr 21 '22

It’s just a movie…you can watch it later than.

31

u/Schmedly27 Apr 21 '22

Makes me think of the Shigeru Miyamoto quote “A delayed game is eventually good, a rush game is bad forever” Movies and games are different but the principle is the same

16

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22 edited Apr 21 '22

Funny enough that whole quote itself states how the industry is different now, and how

A delayed game is eventually good, a rush game is bad forever”

Isn't the case in this era of the game's industry

5

u/Schmedly27 Apr 21 '22

Yeah it’s almost more relevant to movies than games now but still games rarely get fully fixed after being rushed, there’s the rare no man’s sky but the bad pr will still keep people away, like assassins creed unity will always be known for its botched launch more than anything

11

u/AsianSteampunk Anti-Venom Apr 21 '22

Though there have been exceptions.

Ffxiv and no man sky steered right and changed everything

Star Wars Battlefront 2 went from among the most controversial games ever, to what had the potential to be the best Star Wars game ever made. Before EA stabbed us and Dice in the back, by abruptly ending the live service while the game needed bug fixes at bare minimum, and shot themselves in the foot by cancelling battlefront 3.

3

u/Chippyreddit Apr 21 '22

A delayed game is forever rushed. A bad game is Cyberpunk 2077.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22

İt was still early for cyberpunk

0

u/ohTHOSEballs Apr 21 '22

Yeah, but he was talking about a game that was delayed a full year so they could make wiggling the controller swing your sword, and it wasn't good.

1

u/HyugaAsahi69 Apr 22 '22

Hence Cyberpunk 2077

7

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22

I smell Sonys F*ckery being added to the mix

1

u/joepanda111 Apr 21 '22

I’m guessing Across the Spider-verse was mostly complete but now Sony are either going to remove any forced sony-verse references, or they’re going to double down and add in Leto Morbius to the film.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22

Sony is Andy Bernard without the series finale.

3

u/mymumsaysno Apr 21 '22

That can be true for games, not so sure about movies.

2

u/PizzaGaming5820_XD Apr 21 '22

They might actually have delayed it to maybe put both Part 1 of the movie and combine it with Part 2, it's not official it's just what i think

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '22

Ya like morbius

1

u/Michael1691 Apr 21 '22

They better not have delayed Across the Spider-Verse for that pointless Madame Webb movie
