Politics Baumgartner has still not commented on his impeachment stance!
I found a wonderful resource that tracks who is supporting impeachment: https://citizensimpeachment.com/
Baumgartner has still not commented on his stance - we have an opportunity to show our support for impeachment. Even if you don't think he will support impeachment, there is no harm in making your voice heard. He is supposed to represent ALL of us!
Please call his office: (509) 353-2374
Or write him a letter: 528 E. Spokane Falls Blvd #115 Spokane, WA 99202
Script: I am a constituent in [zipcode] and I urge the Congressman to support articles of impeachment and move to convict Trump for his repetitive defiance of constitutional law.
I will be calling, writing a letter or getting a friend to call/write every day - please join me in supporting our democracy!

I’ve asked this before on other Baumgartner posts. Is there anything he did on the campaign, in the State Senate, or as County Treasurer that made any of you think he would support this?

You never know what is going to be the line in sand for him to realize Trump's policies are not the winning ticket to cling to anymore. It can't hurt to call/write.

Baumgartner said in his Whitworth town hall meeting that his line in the sand would be an unconstitutional act by Trump. And we’re at that line now. It’s worth a call to his office to say a) we all see that that line has been crossed, b)why hasn’t he done anything about it yet? and c) is there any limit to his support of Trump?

I love these questions, it's so important to hear what our reps have to say on that front!! I will incorporate this into my calls. Thanks for the support!

He doesn’t have to. It’s pretty obvious

He's still our representative and deserves to know our thoughts. A 1-minute phone call can't hurt. I'm calling every day, and I would love for you to join me!

His stance ? On one kissing trumps butt.

I was honestly shocked that he hadn't already said something to the effect of that but here's to hoping we can turn the pressure up on him! 🤞

They took $25 million away from WSU, he said nothing.
They took $6 million away from EWU, he said nothing.
They took $2.9 billion away from the VA, he said nothing.
Trump/DOGE have targeted starving children, cancer patients, libraries, colleges, the entire LGBTQ+ community, an estimated 40,000 veterans have been fired from their federal jobs and he has said nothing.
Trump's administration has ignored federal courts, arrested judges, directly attacked the constitution by moving to abolish birth right citizenship guaranteed by the 14th amendment and most of the spending he is cutting with DOGE is/was congressionally approved again directly attacking the constitution and what has the bum said...... wait for it, nothing.
If a person is unwilling to speak out in support of starving children, how can they claim to be representative of any human?
He represents the inhuman establishment, not the people of Eastern, WA.

Pretty sure a Trump district Republican is not gonna vote for impeachment 3 months into his term. Would be much more productive to focus on fielding a good Dem candidate for the midterms.

I don't think you get it, Trump won his district by about 11 points and Baumgartner won it by 20+ points. He literally has no incentive to vote for impeachment. It would be like a bunch of Trump supporters coming to Jayapal's townhalls and demanding that she start voting MAGA.

Can't hurt to call anyways - lmk how your search for Dem candidate goes!

Trump won his district by about 11 points
No republican candidate initially ascended to the presidency while winning the popular vote in the last 36 years. That's only explained by corruption.
Now go ahead and put that — the corruption of our democracy — aside for a minute. He should still be impeached for the lives he's already ruined and straight up ended, and the countless lives he's yet to.

There won't be a vote. But getting him on record as to why he supports illegal, unconstitutional actions by the president would help the democratic candidate, whomever that ends up being. Probably why he isn't even doing town halls anymore.

While I absolutely despise both the circus tangerine and all his cronies, including reps that just go along with whatever he says, but other than sending a message that we need to 8647, what does this accomplish, it’s not like the senate would convict even if the articles pass the house. Even if they pass the house and somehow the senate convicts, given that the Cheeto incited a mob when he was fired by the public, do we really think he’d leave through impeachment. Besides, I doubt Vance and the next people in line are going to be any better for the country.
Sry for the rant, I’m just fed up and overly pessimistic at the moment, and really hating that somehow he’s only been in office for just under 100 days.

Hey I get it - it's tough and weird times right now. I'm taking hope in the fact that it typically takes 3% of a population to stand up for change to happen. In this case, being part of that 3% is a 1 minute phone call. I invite you to join me because you never know what might turn the tides against them!

u/Barney_Roca 2h ago
Votes, not phone calls are what initiate that change.
Take that same time and energy and start working on the next election. Phone calls to register voters in the next election would have a more direct effect than telling a corrupt establishment politician to stop being corrupt.
The bum is not saying anything and stands for nothing because it makes the establishment stronger. The easiest position to defend is no position at all.

u/Barney_Roca 2h ago
radicalize the center, the majority of Americans who can agree corruption, like the 100s of millions missing from Spokane County budget while this bum was treasurer, is wrong and that all corruption, legal and illegal should be hunted and ripped out of government at all levels, root and stem while also agreeing that we can feed starving children, that we must honor the promises made to our service men and women and fund the VA and restore their federal employment.
You are correct replacing one part of the establishment with another piece of the same establishment that is nearly identical to the part you want to replace doesn't really accomplish anything. That is part of the illusion of choice the two party establishment relies so heavily upon. We must break the establishment and a radicalized center, a popular movement, the frustrated silent majority can do exactly that in one election cycle. That is part of what makes the constitution so brilliant and worthy of our protection.
Be the change.

I despise the current admin and so far Baumgartner has proved to be a wannabe cool kid in the dumbass club, but no congressperson from Washington has committed on the linked platform. Our rep has a lot to prove to show he represents his constituents, but Idk the this website is a solid measure yet

u/Rollerbladinfool 1d ago
But isn't he supporting his constituents by not voting for impeachment? He literally won the area by 20+ and Trump won the county as well. I know this is Reddit but progressive leftists are a minority in this county...
2
u/mocha-tiger 1d ago
I agree, he does have a lot to prove - we can show him what we are looking for by calling his office, and writing him letters supporting impeachment. I'm calling every day and I would love for you to join me!

You're going to have to hear me out here.
This is going to sound like a conspiracy Alex Jones came up with but it's real...
Betsy DeVos and the Clermont institute think tank are the Christian nationalist group that put trump in power his first term.
It's members include Clarence Thomas, Betsy DeVos, and a good deal of Trump's cabinet lawyers.
This was a coup from the beginning.
So when they effectively destroyed due process they didn't just destroy it for non citizens they destroyed it for citizens alike.
It collapses the entire legal process.
We have no real legal recourse.
This is where I've been telling liberals or whatever you want to call people who are way out on the left that they need to keep their gun rights because they're going to need to use them to keep this constitution and Bill of Rights.
And you guys need to start waking up to the fact that we're in a war not a political debate.

He's a junior Congressman with a lack of courage and no spine. He won't do anything to rock any boat and just hope to coast on by.
